Polly Yarbrough joins the team at Feed My Sheep Christian Counseling Services. She comes to us holding a Doctorate of Ministry in Biblical Counseling from Covington Theological Seminary. She is licensed as a Pastoral Counselor through the New Life Ministerial Association and she is a Tennessee State Licensed Alcohol and Drug counselor.
Polly has extensive experience working with clients suffering from substance use disorder. She previously worked at an in-patient treatment facility for several years working with individuals and groups in counseling sessions. She has also served at Restore Life Behavioral Health, a faith-based facility, where she gained valuable information.
Dr. Polly Yarbrough is a member of the Listening Ear Counseling Ministry where they sponsor and are also presenters of several seminars that focus on diverse topics such as, “Types of Temperaments,” “Impact of Your Thought Patterns,” “Getting to Know Yourself,” and “The Different Shades of Grief.”
Polly has a heart for meeting and greeting people. She has worked in several different ministries. She was leader of Women’s Group at her church that helped to create a time of fellowship and closeness among the women. She was coordinator for the teachers training and a teacher herself for several years.
Polly’s says that she is blessed beyond words as she sees God’s work in the whole person which includes the spirit, soul and body. In this, counseling gives her opportunities to witness the Word of God that causes transformed minds to behave in a Godly manner that can show forth the Love of God in their everyday living.
Polly has a passion for God’s Word. She knows that God has anointed her to teach and disciple believers to grow and mature through the Holy Spirit’s gifts of discernment, knowledge and wisdom. Her greatest joy is to see believers find their way in God’s Word and become who God says they are as they seek His will for their lives as the Spirit of the Lord directs the counseling process. She believes that God has given her the gift of showing mercy as she touch as many people as possible with a smile and sometimes with a hug to hopefully help prepare the people to receive a Word from God that will help them in their Christian journey.
Polly has been married for almost 50 years to her soulmate/husband, Luke. They have three wonderful children and six very precious grandchildren that they adore greatly. She and her husband are coordinators of the Hospital Ministry at COP and they believe God has called them to minister to the sick, shut-in whether at home or at a living- assisted facility.
