Unfortunately, stress is a normal part of life. But it is not all bad. In some cases, it can even be healthy. Stress can cause us to want to create positive change in our lives and we can grow as a result. It can also be a time for us to do self-examination and determine if we need to do things differently. Stress can actually keep us more motivated. It can help us to be more resourceful in our endeavors and keep us attentive so we can be more observant to deal with challenges we face.
However, when stress becomes intense and lasts over a long period of time, it can be difficult to recover. Our adrenal glands can become exhausted and drained to the point we become diseased. God did not intend our mind and body to handle long-term chronic stress, but He can use it to develop character in us.
